Why did you choose your major(s)?
I loved studying history and it allowed me to also complete the requirements for premed.

Significant accomplishments or memories from your time at UM.
My undergraduate major opened the door to a full scholarship to complete my MSS at Ole Miss.

Tell us about the educational/career path since UM.
I expanded my liberal arts background to finish a MA in Psychology from Texas Women’s University. I used all of this to become the CEO of an Employee Assistance Program operating in 37 states from 1988 to 2001. As President and CEO, I led the growth of Planned Behavioral Health Care, receiving recognition from the Dallas 100. The company was recognized for innovative employee practices making it a leader in friendly work environments for young women due the premise that family and work are integrally connected. I was recognized by the American Association of Family Therapist for my leadership in recognizing the role of systems therapy in the work environment, and traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad.  From 2001-2014, I was President of Life Information, Inc., an internet-based wellness program.  Currently I was a business owner of pbhc/Wise Solutions for Living.

What is the value of studying history in today’s world?
My liberal arts background allowed me to understand the people who make corporations successful. It further gave me the understanding of how and why people are successful in pursuing their own dreams.
